Description
The main circuit breaker refers to the main switch used to turn on and off the power supply of electric locomotives and electric multiple units. When a short circuit, grounding or other fault occurs in the main circuit, the main circuit breaker can quickly disconnect and play a protective role. The main circuit breaker generally uses an air circuit breaker, which is composed of an arc extinguishing chamber, an isolation switch, a control operating mechanism, and a compressed air supply system. When disconnecting, the compressed air enters the arc extinguishing chamber to first break the active contact and extinguish the arc at the same time. Then the compressed air causes the isolation switch to open. The opening is carried out in a power-free state, and then the active contact is reset to set the main circuit breaker for the next time. Close and prepare. When the main circuit breaker is closed, the compressed air causes the isolating switch to close, and the closing is performed under power. In order to suppress overvoltage, there is also a set of non-linear resistors between the active static contacts of the arc extinguishing chamber.
