Product Description
Whatever the method of veneer, eventually the veneer must be dried. Its moisture content must be reduced to between 6% to 12%. Considering that the veneer has a moisture content well above FSP, this step requires a lot of energy. The two most common dryers are roller dryer and belt dryers. the later allows veneer to be fed in to the dryer with its grain angle perpendicular to the sense of feed. Consequently, they can be used to dry continuous ribbons of veneer. Roller dryers are energetically efficiend because the rollers arre heated and since these carry the veneer through the dryer the direct contact with the dryer permits heating through conduction, which is more effiecient than by convection. The rollers are typically 100mm in diameters.
