Description
The basic principle of SVG (Static Var Generator) is to use turn-offable high-power power electronic devices (e.g., IGBTs) to form a self-commutated bridge circuit. This circuit is connected in parallel to the power grid through a reactor. By appropriately adjusting the amplitude and phase of the AC-side output voltage of the bridge circuit, or directly controlling its AC-side current, the circuit can absorb or inject reactive current that meets the requirements, thereby achieving the purpose of dynamic reactive power compensation.
