How to test the Smoke Alarm

      1) Monthly Testing: Press the test button on the cover of the unit and hold it until the alarm sounds. If the alarm does not go off, check if the unit is receiving power and test it again. If it still doesn't alarm, check the battery and replace it immediately if needed.

      2) Visual Indicators: The signal light on the unit flashes once every 30 seconds to indicate that it is functioning properly. When the alarm goes off, the signal light will flash once every 0.5 seconds.

      3) Low Battery Warning: If the alarm emits a low "chirp" sound every 30 seconds, it means the battery needs to be replaced.

      4) False Alarm: Normal smoke from cooking or small amounts of smoke will not trigger the alarm. False alarms occur only if you blow smoke directly into the alarm or if you forget to turn on ventilation while cooking.

      5) Smoke Activation: Sometimes, smoking near the unit may trigger the alarm. In such cases, simply ventilate the area to stop the alarm from sounding.
