The roller of the cylindrical roller bearing is in line contact with the raceway, so the bearing can bear heavier radial load. Applications are found in situations characterized by heavy load and shock load, and also by high-speed rotation. These bearings are separable bearings, and convenient to be mounted and dismounted. They are designed as types of single, double and multiple rows among which the single row cylindrical roller bearings are most applicable. Normally these bearings can accommodate radial load only, none but single row bearings with ribs both on inner and outer rings can carry lighter constant axial load.
